Bluegrass Beginners for Kids

Location: GAC Music Studio
Details: Bluegrass Beginners for Kids Thursdays, 4:45-6:15 pm. February 8-March 15. In this course, acoustic roots fiddler, singer and songwriter Lizzy Plotkin will guide students through learning the basics of Bluegrass music. The course will start with history, rhythm techniques, jam etiquette, circle-style games, fiddle tunes and melodies and end with theory, singing, traditional bluegrass harmony lessons and a chance to write your own bluegrass-style song. Any student ages 7-18 that plays Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin, Bass, Banjo, Cello or Ukulele is eligible for the course. It will be a beginner friendly course. Please contact Lizzy at lizzy.plotkin@gmail.com to find out if the student's level of playing is a good match! GAC Music Studio. Min 6, max 10 students. Six week course. Instructor: Lizzy Plotkin. Tuition: $155/student, $131.75/members.
