KIRSTEN ATKINS

KBUT has been an important part of my connection with the community since I moved here in 1987. I have always been impressed by the quality of programming KBUT has been able to provide in such a small town and am proud to have watched the station grow alongside the community. I have been a supporter and advocate for the station over the years and can often be heard directing new people and visitors to tune in!
Being a DJ was never really my calling but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to give back to the station by being on the Board of Directors these past three years. During this time we’ve seen the growth of local news, live broadcasts, added a local Morning Edition host, among other improvements. We have also helped to support a stable and sustainable fundraising base in the face of potential federal funding cuts.
I am hoping to have the opportunity to serve for a second term on the KBUT Board of Directors. I feel that having some continuity will help the board run smoothly. In addition, my community organizing and communication skills, and strong connections in the valley are a valuable asset to the station moving forward.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve KBUT!
Please let me know if I can answer any questions or provide you with any more information.
Respectfully,
Kirsten Atkins

Johnna Bernholtz

Johnna started coming to Crested Butte in 1989 while in high school and moved here after graduating from the University of Arizona in 1994.  She met her husband Bob here and is the mother of two teenagers.  Johnna enjoys spending her time with her family, skiing, hiking, climbing, watching lots of soccer and enjoying the great outdoors in general.  She owned Mother of Thyme landscaping for 12 years while also working for a lodging property before switching gears.   She has worked for Gunnison Valley Mentors for the past ten years matching youth in the valley with adult mentors both in and outside of school.     Johnna is looking forward to volunteering more in our community and for KBUT specifically as she believes in the value it brings to our community via music, news, public service announcements and the many annual events

KYLE RYAN

I moved to Crested Butte full time eleven winters ago to follow an opportunity to live in paradise and design houses.  One of my first experiences in my new home was KBUT DJ training.  Since that time have been a member, volunteer, and guest DJ. Whether it's frying up fish at the Fish Fry, or spinning tunes in the off seasons I love being part of such an integral part of my community.  It is important in the digital age of playlists and podcasts to have a strong place to connect to as a community and have our unique voices heard.  No matter if that voice is informing us of Town Council affairs, looking for their lost gloves, or playing us a newly found musical nugget. .  Other community non-profit organizations that I am part of include Vinotok where I am an organizer and former Greenman and the Blazers Ball where I am a founder and board of directors member.  When not organizing event's and building community I can be found skiing, running my dog, riding my bike, or on the softball field.
Thanks for your consideration!!
