KBUT has a small but dedicated staff. Staff members handle the tasks of managing the programming, finances, volunteers, membership, underwriters, grants, donors, events, and the music library for the station.

Julia Brazell, General Manager - 970-349-5225 ext 11

Julia Brazell was born and raised in Crested Butte, CO and has been involved with KBUT-FM, the community radio station there, for most of her life. In May of 2015 she moved back to her home of Crested Butte to take the position of Membership, Web and Assistant Operation Director at KBUT and on June 1st, 2016 she took on the role of the station's General Manager. She is passionate about nonprofit work and about community radio.

Jackson Petito, Program & Operations Director  970-349-5225 ext.10

Jackson was born and raised in Crested Butte, and has been in and out of radio studios since before he was born. He got his first show on KBUT when he was 15, bringing madness to Monday afternoons until he left for college in 1998. After too many years away, he moved back to the Butte in 2014, and immediately got back on the air. He now hosts the "Monday Midnight Mixtape", Monday nights 10:30 - 12:30.

Tyler Lucas, Underwriting & Development Director  - 970-349-5225 ext. 22

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Tyler moved to Colorado in 2001. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005, he moved to Crested Butte to ski and mountain bike. The rest is history. Tyler began volunteering at KBUT pledge drives and events in 2006, and in 2011 became a fill-in DJ. He now has his own show, “Playin’ Thru” on Thursdays 10-Noon. In May 2013, Tyler joined the KBUT staff as the Underwriting Director. He is also active in the local music scene, playing guitar.

Laura Anderson, Membership Director - 970-349-5225 ext. 17

Laura was born and raised in Dolores, Colorado. Her radio career started in nearby Cortez, where she completed two summer internships with KSJD Community Radio while in high school. Laura spent a few semesters at Colorado State University, but eventually landed at Western State in Gunnison. While in college, Laura worked first as the News Director and then as Program Director of Western's student-run radio station, KWSB. She also  held various editor positions for the Top O' The World student newspaper. After receiving her bachelor's in English, Laura went to work for the Gunnison Country Times, initially as a reporter, then as editor of special publications, office manager, sports writer, etc. She jumped into the role of Membership, Web & Assistant Operations Director for KBUT in June 2016.

Chad Reich, News Director - 970-349-5225 ext. 13

Chad moved to Crested Butte after graduating from the University of Iowa in August 2005. He came for the fantastic biking and skiing and stayed for the community here in the valley. Chad joined KBUT as a volunteer shortly after arriving in CB, became the Music Director in late 2006 and served as program director from July 2008 - October 2015. Chad was named News Director in January of 2016.  Chad is the host of "Civil Disobedience" heard on KBUT Mondays from noon to 2 pm.  You should listen to his show if you enjoy nontraditional radio.

You can hear daily news stories, produced in the KBUT studios, at 8:01 AM, 12:06, & 6:30 PM almost every weekday.  We also insert local news stories into NPR's 'Morning Edition' (4-8 AM) and 'All Things Considered' (5-6:30 PM).  We also air stories from the Colorado Statehouse as part of our 'Capitol Coverage' coverage periodically on KBUT.

Bonnie Gollhofer, Music Director - 970-349-5225 ext. 15

Bonnie Gollhofer is a graduate of Western State, where she lived quite comfortably at KWSB and managed to sneak in a little acting and sound design with Peak Productions on the side. A Wyoming native and Kansas reject, her love affair with the Gunnison Valley began at 14 with a backpacking trip to Uncompaghre Peak and the Lake City area. She has been known to skate rather awkwardly with the Gunnison Valley Roller Girls, annoy her neighbors with electric ukulele, and co-host of "Fresh Tracks" Monday evenings at 8:30 pm on KBUT.
