    Marijuana Smell Could Lead to County Ordinance

    Complaints originating in unincorporated Gunnison County may lead to an ordinance regulating the smell of non-commercial and non-medical marijuana grow operations. Listen here, or you can catch local news at 7:59 AM, 12:06 & 6:30 PM on weekdays.


     

    Bag Ban Stalled Due To Legality; Appears To Have Support

    The ordinance discussed by the Crested Butte Town Council was MORE strict than that published in the most recent Legals section. Therefore, it must be placed in the Legals and presented again for final approval. The ordinance seems to be supported by a majority of councilors.     Complaints Over Tiny Home Project Handed Over To CB Town Staff

    Town Council doesn't deal with enforcement of zoning issues. Town Staff is directed to determine what kind of vehicle or structure this is and follow the code as written.

    Elk Herd Management Input Sought For Units 66 & 67

    Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be seeking public input at two meetings regarding a new elk-management plan Units 66 and 67 near Gunnison. A public meeting will be held July 27 (Gunnison - Western State Theater). Wildlife managers will use input to create new management for the next 10 years.

    Mike and Derek Brooks join us to share the history of the Gunnison Valley Observatory. We also learn how anyone interested in the night sky can pay a visit to the Observatory to see for themselves the stars, galaxies, satellites, and assorted nebula of the cosmos.

    Town Manager Discusses Telluride's Plastic Bag Ban

    Greg Clifton is the Town Manager in Telluride. We discuss how the bag ban in Telluride came about, its elements, and how retailers and citizens reacted.

     

    Complete Streets Project Discussion Tuesday Night

    The idea is to make the Highway 50 and 135 corridors safer and more walkable. But some business owners along the highways disagree with certain parts of the discussion, saying it could limit traffic and reduce parking. The discussion will take place during the City Countil meeting on Tuesday, July 12th at 7:15 PM as part of a regular council meeting.
