KBUT’s Legacy Society -- a lasting gift

So much has changed since KBUT went on the air over 20 years ago. What was once a struggling- almost experimental- station has become a permanent and positive presence in the lives of so many residents and visitors in the Gunnison Valley.

Now you can help ensure the long term future of KBUT and public broadcasting in the Gunnison Valley by making a planned gift to KBUT through your estate. A planned gift, through means such as a bequest, is a lasting investment in KBUT’s unique programming and services.

KBUT’s Legacy Society honors those who have included KBUT in their will or trust. The planned giving program at KBUT not only benefits the station; your gift benefits the entire community now and for future generations. Your gift will live on leaving a legacy that quality public broadcasting will always be there to entertain, inform and inspire the Gunnison Valley.

Planned gifts are added to the KBUT Endowment, unless otherwise designated. These gifts provide the foundation for KBUT’s long term financial security. The earnings generated each year by the endowment support KBUT’s programs and services. As our endowment grows, it provides an expanding source of stable funding to help KBUT survive and thrive despite economic ups and downs.

There are many different ways to plan your gift allowing you to achieve some of your personal, financial and estate planning goals. Options include cash gifts, bequests, gifts of appreciated stock or mutual funds, gifts of real estate, gifts of retirement assets, gifts of life insurance policies and charitable remainder trusts.

We are here to help. We have examples of bequest language for your will or trust, and we can provide you with a confidential Estate Intention Form. The advice and services of an attorney, financial planner, estate specialist, or other professional advisor should also be obtained when considering a planned gift.

Kim Carroll Bosler, KBUT’s Development Director, will be happy to help you explore the options so that you can decide what’s best for your particular financial objectives and personal wishes. All consultations are strictly confidential. Please contact Kim for more information, without obligation. Kim can be reached at 970-349-5225,ext. 17 or kim@kbut.org
