The 2012 Growler Gran Fondo takes place this Sunday, May 27. 64-miles of road-riding delight to benefit Gunnison Country Partners, the valley’s one-to-one youth mentoring program. The route follows Highway 135 North from the IOOF Park in Gunnison to the four-way stop in Crested Butte. At that point, riders have an option to continue up the road past Mt. Crested Butte and to the top of Prospect Drive. The uphill section from the Gas Cafe to the top of Prospect will be the lone timed section, for those wishing to test their endurance. Riders will then reverse direction and return back to Gunnison along the same route. There will be awards for the top three men and women for the timed section, as well as raffle prizes for anyone who registers for the event.
Registration is $80, which includes a pair of custom Growler Gran Fondo riding socks (a $15+ value), $10 for food & drink at the IOOF Park celebration afterwards, and a chance to win many valuable prizes donated by Mavic.
