Marketa Zubkova,
Immigrant Journalist
Marketa Zubkova is passionate about helping immigrants integrate with their adopted community. She wants people to know that there are many diverse backgrounds and cultures within the local immigrant community. Most local immigrants are from Latin America, but Marketa is from the Czech Republic. She's 31 years old and has been in the Gunnison Valley for six years. Marketa works as an ESL teacher and is the Spanish Outreach Coordinator for Bright Beginnings. She also volunteers with the Multicultural Resource Office. |
